About 40tude

Since 40tude was founded in September 2011 we’ve raised more than £2 million to help cure colon (bowel) cancer.

We support inspiring research targeted at transforming the early diagnosis of colon cancer and we raise awareness of how vital it is to get screened regularly, ideally from your mid-40s, for this preventable type of cancer.

We achieve our aims primarily by taking on serious physical challenges.  So far we’ve hosted six paddleboard marathons and 11 cycle challenges. We’ve also successfully scaled some of Africa’s highest summits, trekked many desert kilometres, undertaken a WWII skiing mission in the Telemark region and a (very wet) rock scramble in the Musandam!

Other brilliant 40tuders have completed a range of truly impressive personal challenges, from running a marathon, extreme cycle rides, achieving Everest Base Camp and swimming the English Channel, to name but a few.

The funds we raise have been carefully directed to early phases of ground-breaking research projects.  We’re proud currently to be the lead or exclusive financial supporter of eight multi-year studies being led by the pioneering medics at St. Mark’s Hospital, each having the potential to inform and transform national colon cancer screening and surgical programmes in the near future, saving lives.

We’re most grateful that the Warren Smith Ski Academy has chosen to support 40tude curing colon cancer, and are looking forward to this new and exciting initiative!
